Travel by plane or bus?

There is no deniable advantage of traveling by plane when it comes to comfort and travel time. However, depending on distance and price, there are those who prefer road transportation.

The following is a list of some advantages traveling by plane:
• Of course, the travel speed is one of the greatest advantages of traveling by plane. A 9-hour bus journey may take only 50 minutes by non-stop flights.
• Safety is a very important issue, as the plane is considered the safest mean of transportation in the world, with the odds for a plane crash of one in 8 million. The strict safety inspection when boarding is also taken into consideration.
• Traveling by plane is much more comfortable than by bus. The air route will never be affected by road imperfections which may interrupt your rest like a bus trip. On long-distance flights, you get a pillow and blankets for better accommodation.
• It is really unfair to compare the airport structure and the bus terminal structure. The airport usually has a larger space, with good number of restrooms, restaurants, bank branches, bookstores and other stores that may meet different needs.
• You may take advantage of the low-season and super deals to get excellent prices on airline tickets. Just be careful of the strict rules of such promotional fares.
• When you are a frequent traveler, you may earn miles and be part of a loyalty airline program. You may earn interesting benefits from the loyalty airline programs, such as free tickets, upgrade to superior class, VIP lounge access or even lodging at hotels.

Now see the advantages of traveling by bus:
• Bus tickets have much lower price variations than airline tickets, i.e., purchasing the ticket on the eve or in advance, the prices will be often the same. Under certain circumstances, the elderly, underprivileged youths and physically disabled people may purchase free tickets.
• The bus travel does not require you to be at the boarding gate as early as the plane travel.
• Traveling by bus during the day allows you to enjoy the landscapes, which is not possible on a plane.
• The baggage limit per passenger in the bus is not very clear and, there is possibly none, which is a huge advantage to whoever needs to carry more baggage.
• It is usually the most cost-effective mean of transportation on routes under 500 km.
• Some people are terrified of flying on airplanes, but hardly anyone will be afraid of traveling by bus.
• Some airports are far from the downtowns, increasing the cost and travel time.
• A road travel will hardly be affected by bad weather. The bus terminals do not close due to bad weather and buses run even in unfavorable weather, except in rare situations.
• Most of the buses have Wi-Fi connection these days.
• Semi-sleeper or sleeper buses, available on longer journeys, are extremely comfortable and pillow, blanket, water and sometimes snacks are also provided to the passengers.
• Soft suspension with noise reduction and lower impact on irregular highways.
• Longer travels have scheduled stops, making the trip less tiring.
• There are no overbooking problems.
• Cancellations with 100% refund, as long as they are requested within 24 hours in advance.
