Corporate travel policy

The company travel policy is a document  which establishes all the rules related to corporate travel. For example, the company  should determine the minimum time in advance for purchasing   airline tickets, hotel reservations, maximum values by cost center, travel rebooking, cancellation clause, employees who are authorized to travel,  person in charge allowed to  approve, reimbursements, accountability, payment methods, extra expenses, in short, everything must be described in detail and disclosed to all the travelers of the company.

In order to create a travel policy, it is extremely important to understand the company needs and  adapt the rules to the business reality,  mainly to the organizational culture. The company travel policy  should not require too much work and it is not supposed to be long, but it has to be clear and complete.

When the travel policy is well structured and aligned to a self booking system, it is very easy to control all the process and expenses, assuring safe and good quality trips, which can also generate savings for the company.
